Report illegal content to Tonk
Version 1.0 — effective 28 August 2026
Anyone may notify Tonk about a specific item of information on the Tonk Service that they consider to be illegal under European Union or EU Member State law.
How to submit a notice
Email support@tonk.xyz with the subject ILLEGAL CONTENT NOTICE. Your notice should include:
- the specific Space, account, URL, share link or other location that enables us to identify the information;
- a clear explanation of why you believe that specific information or activity is illegal, including the relevant country and law if you know them;
- any relevant dates, context or supporting information;
- your name and email address, except where the notice concerns suspected child sexual abuse or exploitation and applicable law permits a notice without that information; and
- this statement: “I confirm that I believe in good faith that the information and allegations in this notice are accurate and complete.”
You do not need to be a Tonk user or use legal language. Please give enough information for us to locate the specific material and understand the alleged illegality without a detailed legal investigation.
Do not download, attach, copy or redistribute illegal or harmful material merely to report it. Provide the location and a description instead. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency service or law-enforcement authority as well as Tonk.
What happens next
If you provide electronic contact details, we will confirm receipt without undue delay. We will assess the notice in a timely, diligent, non-arbitrary and objective manner. We may ask for additional information where needed.
We will notify you of our decision without undue delay and explain available options for redress. We will also say whether automated means were used to process the notice or make the decision. Possible action includes restricting or removing content, disabling a link or Space, suspending an account, preserving evidence, or taking no action where the notice does not establish a sufficient legal or factual basis.
You may challenge our decision by replying to the decision email or contacting support@tonk.xyz with the subject ILLEGAL CONTENT APPEAL. Identify the decision and explain why you believe it should be changed. We will review the complaint within a reasonable time and use human review for a challenged material restriction where reasonably practicable.
